The attacks by mercenaries of the interim government, supported by the Turkish occupation, on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, which began on January 6, continue for the third consecutive day.

According to information gathered by our correspondents and statements released by the Internal Security Forces in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, mercenaries attempted to advance on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods from several directions, using mortars, rocket launchers, tanks, missiles, drones, and various other weapons. The Internal Security Forces responded forcefully to these attacks, thwarting them.

Resistance on the Neighborhood Fronts:

In the early morning hours, the mercenaries attempted to advance on the two neighborhoods, but the Internal Security Forces and local residents strongly resisted them, repelling the attack and forcing the mercenaries to retreat.

The mercenaries also launched a heavy weapons attack on the Bani Zeid neighborhood, but this attack was also thwarted by the Internal Security Forces. During the clashes in the area, two mercenary drones were shot down.

In the afternoon, mercenaries of the interim government launched another attack from the direction of the Syriac Quarter using heavy weapons. The Internal Security Forces repelled the attack.

Subsequently, the mercenary groups renewed their attack on the Syriac Quarter. During the ensuing clashes, four mercenaries were killed and their attack was thwarted. Clashes are ongoing.

In the Lairamoun area, mercenaries launched an attack using tanks, drones, and heavy weapons. Internal Security Forces responded, leading to fierce clashes in which three drones were shot down and four mercenaries were killed. Clashes are still ongoing in the area.

The Aleppo Internal Security Forces announced the downing of two suicide drones in the Ashrafieh, Castello, and Cemetery areas.

On Castello Hill, mercenaries launched a new attack in the afternoon, which was repelled by Internal Security Forces and local residents. One of their tanks was destroyed.

Fighting and clashes continue on the Castello, Syriac, and Bani Zeid fronts, as well as in several other areas, where a number of mercenaries have been killed and others wounded, though precise figures are unavailable.

Faced with resistance from the Internal Security Forces and local residents, who have inflicted heavy losses on the mercenaries, the interim government's mercenaries are indiscriminately shelling civilian neighborhoods with heavy weapons.
