The Imrali delegation, affiliated with the DEM Party, met with Ahmet Davutoğlu, the head of the Future Party, as part of efforts to advance the “Peace and Democratic Society” initiative launched by leader Abdullah Ocalan. The DEM Party delegation included Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and Özgür Erol. They met with Davutoğlu to discuss developments in the current phase and the political process.

In his statements after the meeting, Davutoğlu highlighted the critical nature of the phase Turkey is going through amid regional and international developments, stating: “We previously called for the formation of a parliamentary committee, and we remain committed to this position. We are in a sensitive phase that requires the participation of all parties.”

He added: “We must act rationally and with responsible discourse to move the process forward. We hope these efforts succeed and lead to tangible results that contribute to resolving this significant issue.”

For her part, Pervin Buldan said after the meeting: “We held an important meeting and briefed Mr. Davutoğlu and his delegation on the progress of the process. We consider it important to benefit from Davutoğlu’s experience, especially since he served as prime minister during critical periods.”

She continued: “This issue is not the concern of one or two parties but a national issue that requires the support of all opposition parties.

Therefore, we will continue our meetings and consultations with him and his delegation.” Mithat Sancar, a member of the delegation, noted that the success of the political process requires broad societal support, describing the meeting as fruitful and successful.
