Dangerous ISIS mercenary killed in al-Hol camp

The Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces, with the support of the International Coalition, carried out a joint security operation in al-Hol camp, which houses thousands of families of ISIS mercenaries.

The operation took place last night, Wednesday (December 27), during which the participating forces raided one of the tents and were able to kill the mercenary called “Abu Ubaida al-Iraqi,” “the one responsible for al-Hol camp among ISIS mercenaries.”

In the details of the operation, the mercenary refused the request to surrender and tried to detonate the explosive belt he was wearing, in addition to his initiative to open fire, so the forces were forced to deal with him and shoot and kill him, along with his wife, nicknamed “Umm Aisha,” who also resisted surrender.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces stated that the mercenary, “Abu Ubaida al-Iraqi,” who used the title “Abu Muawiyah,” is considered “one of the senior leaders in ISIS,” and was involved in the killing of many women and men in the camp, and also worked to smuggle what are called “Cubs of the Caliphate” to the Syrian areas occupied by the Turkish occupation state. He is also considered the first planner to launch attacks on security and military checkpoints, and the main planner to threaten civilian institutions in al-Hol camp, as he issued threats against humanitarian and European organizations and their employees working within the camp, to obstruct them and prevent them from being able to carrying out their duties within the camp.

The forces participating in the operation seized: “1 Kalashnikov weapon, 1 magazine, 5 8.5 caliber pistol rounds, 1 military quiver, 2 military bags, and 1 mobile phone.”
