The co-chair of the General Control Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria confirmed that the administration will continue its work to achieve a better future for the region, pointing out the importance of generalizing this experience throughout Syria as a solution to the ongoing problems.

The co-chair of the General Control Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Ahmed Sheikho, explained that the experience of autonomous administration is a living model that can have a positive impact on the rest of Syria. It provides a living example of democratic and participatory local governance that enhances social cohesion and respects cultural diversity.

He emphasized the possibility of building Syria as a democratic, pluralistic state that respects the rights of all its cultural and religious components. He pointed out that the powers and the international community should support the efforts of the Syrians in promoting stability and building a better future for their country.

He added: "The autonomous administration has proven to be the main actor in achieving stability and development in north-eastern Syria. Thanks to its comprehensive vision, it has managed to ensure security and stability and has played a crucial role in combating the ISIS/Deash terrorist organization."

Great achievements

Sheikho pointed out that the autonomous administration has succeeded in providing basic services to the residents, such as education, health, water, and electricity, and has also worked on enhancing economic development by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.

He also emphasized the role of women in political and social life, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among the various cultural components in the region.

He added: "autonomous administration contributes to enhancing social cohesion and cultural diversity by recognizing the rights of all components, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, and others. It also provides education in native languages and supports cultural and artistic activities that express this diversity."

A model for reform in Syria

Sheikho affirmed that the model of autonomous administration can have a positive impact on the rest of Syria, as it represents an example of democratic and participatory local governance that enhances social cohesion and cultural diversity. He said, "The autonomous administration is trying to convey a message to the rest of Syria and the international community that the solution to the Syrian crisis lies in dialogue and negotiation among all parties."

He added: "Syria can be a democratic, pluralistic state that respects the rights of all its components, and the international community must support the efforts of the Syrians to build a better future for their country."

Bright future

Concluding his remarks, Sheikho stressed that the autonomous administration will continue its efforts to build a better future for North and East Syria, expressing his hope that this experience will contribute to achieving stability and prosperity for Syria in general. He said: “We are working for a more stable and prosperous future for Syria, where all components can live in peace.”
