DAA, SDF provide support to Deir ez-Zor

The DAA and the SDF dispatched a team of 18 people, equipped with staff, machinery, and service equipment, to Deir ez-Zor city in response to the call of local residents and the administration of the western region, with the goal of removing war debris.

The DAA and the SDF affirmed that supporting the residents of western Deir ez-Zor is a duty that falls upon them, stressing their readiness to provide the necessary assistance to any other Syrian area when needed.

According to the team supervisors, the scale of destruction in western Deir ez-Zor exceeded expectations, prompting them to work intensively to open roads for residents and remove rubble and traces of war.

This is not the first time the DAA and the SDF have provided support to other Syrian regions; following the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on 6 February 2023, they sent humanitarian aid to the affected areas, especially the city of Aleppo.

The team’s work continued for five consecutive days, during which they removed large amounts of rubble and opened dozens of roads, including the surroundings of the Deir ez-Zor stadium, which witnessed a celebration marking the fall of the Baath regime on 8 December.

The team was sent through coordination between the SDF, the DAA, and the transitional government in Syria.
