DAA reaches to plan with Damascus authority about IDPs in al-Hol Camp

Sheikhmous Ahmed, head of the Office of Displaced Persons and Refugees Affairs at the Social Affairs and Labor Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, announced the agreement of a joint mechanism with the Damascus authorities to return Syrian families residing in al-Hol camp to their areas of origin.

A tripartite meeting was held in al-Hol camp with the participation of a delegation from the Damascus authorities, a delegation from the International Coalition, and representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The meeting resulted in an understanding on a joint plan aimed at organizing the process of evacuating Syrian families and returning them to their areas of origin, with the aim of ending their suffering and easing the burden on the camp, according to Ahmed.

Ahmed affirmed that the Autonomous Administration will provide support to anyone who wishes to voluntarily return to their home region, emphasizing that the humanitarian issue is a top priority and is given great importance regardless of political considerations.

This step comes within the framework of the efforts of the North and East Syria Region to achieve stability and security, as well as to improve the humanitarian conditions of Syrian families residing in al-Hol Camp, considered one of the most dangerous camps in the world, given that some of its sections house families of ISIS mercenaries.
