DAA pays tribute: Önder's struggle will endure

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAA) has expressed its condolences on the passing of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, affirming that the legacy of his struggle will continue to inspire efforts for building a democratic system that guarantees the rights of all communities.

In an official statement, the DAA described Önder as a prominent figure in the democratic struggle and a key member of the Omralı delegation who played a pivotal role in efforts toward peace and democratic dialogue in Turkey and the broader region.

The condolence message stated:

"The late Önder was one of the courageous voices who gave expression to the aspirations of the region’s peoples for freedom and justice. He believed in a peaceful and democratic resolution to the Kurdish question and stood bravely in defense of the rights of oppressed peoples, challenging authoritarian and repressive policies."

The DAA reaffirmed that the struggle of individuals like Sırrı Süreyya Önder "will remain a source of inspiration for us all in our journey toward establishing a democratic system that safeguards the rights and freedoms of all components without exception."
