Continued mine clearance along Tel Tamr–Zalerkan line

MAG mine clearance teams are continuing survey and detection operations for mines and other explosive remnants of war along the Zerkan–Tel Tamr line, amid the continued presence of war remnants in several villages and agricultural areas. These remnants pose a threat to civilians and prevent residents from safely accessing their lands and returning to their areas.

The teams are currently focusing their work in Dardara and the surrounding agricultural lands, conducting surveys and detecting mines and explosive remnants of war in preparation for their removal and for securing the area for residents and farmers.

The operations are particularly important for local residents who depend on agriculture, as the risks posed by mines and explosive remnants of war prevent safe access to large areas of farmland and threaten the lives of civilians, particularly children and farmers.

The mine clearance operations are part of efforts to reduce the risks posed by explosive remnants of war and create safer conditions for residents, including displaced people from Serekaniye, to return to their areas and resume their lives and work without being exposed to the dangers of mines and other war remnants.

The effects of the war remain present in several areas of the Tel Tamr and Zerkan countryside. Survey and clearance operations represent an essential step toward securing roads, agricultural lands and residential areas, strengthening stability and creating conditions for the return of residents who were forced to flee their homes.
