Components of Tirbespiyê call for constitution guaranteeing rights of all Syrians

In any country, the constitution serves as a guarantee of the rights of all its citizens and a reference through which each individual can also understand their duties. In Syria, calls are increasing for the drafting of a national constitution that ensures the rights of all and organizes duties according to democratic and free principles.

In this context, citizens from the city of Tirbespiyê in al-Jazira canton, during their statements to ANHA agency, called for a new Syrian constitution, stressing the need for it to guarantee their rights and preserve their dignity.

Citizen Maryam Jindo, from the Kurdish Yazidi community, stated that the Kurdish people have struggled in recent years to build a decentralized democratic state in which the rights of all components are protected.

She added: “Today, we call for the drafting of a new constitution that guarantees the rights and duties of all components of the Syrian people, including the Kurds, and for the social contract in Rojava to serve as a model for Syria as a whole. The components of Rojava have, for more than 10 years, managed to live and work together without any discrimination.”

For his part, Mohammed Khair Khalil Abdullah pointed out that the Kurdish people made great sacrifices during the Syrian revolution and defeated terrorism, and today their rights must be preserved within a new constitution for the country, in a way that guarantees the rights of all components of the Syrian people.

He emphasized that protecting the rights of components legally is a popular demand, stating that the law and the constitution must serve as the umbrella under which all Syrians unite.

In turn, citizen Abeer Ali from the Arab component noted that the model of coexistence in Rojava is an example of harmony and guaranteeing the rights of all components, stressing that the unity of components is the path toward progress and prosperity.

Abeer Ali called for the drafting and preparation of a new constitution in Syria, with the participation of all components in its formulation, so that it safeguards their rights, freedom, and dignity. She concluded by stating that the constitution is the foundation for building a democratic state, as the Syrian people aspire for their future.
