Components of NE Syria head to Newroz squares

Meanwhile, the components of NE Syria are heading to the squares to celebrate Newroz that organized under the slogan “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue,” the celebrations are scheduled to begin at around 11 noon.

Since the morning hours, the people of NE Syrian - Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Armenians, Circassians, and Turkmen - began heading to the squares to celebrate Newroz 2024.

The flags of the Democratic Society Movement, the Martyrs’ Families Council, the Syrian Democratic Forces, the People’s Protection Units, the Women’s Protection Units, and pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan were raised.

There is an intense security deployment in NE Syria, especially the roads leading to the celebration squares to maintain the security and safety and to facilitate their arrival to their destinations.

Newroz 2024 celebrations will be held today in 8 centers “Derik, Girkê Legê, Tirbespiyê, Qamishlo, Amuda, Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr, Hasakah, and Raqqa.”

- Derik celebration will be in the village of Mamshur.

- Cîl Agha and Girkê Legê in the village of Haliq.

-Tirbespiyê in the village of Drejek.

- Qamishlo in the village of Hemo.

- Amuda in the village of Jaghir Bazaar.

- Hasaka in the Western Sadd.

- Darbasiyah in the village of Gul Bustan.

- Raqqa at the municipal stadium in the city center.

According to the Newroz Preparatory Committee, the celebration activities will begin with the lighting of the Newroz flame at 11 a.m. in all centers.
