Closure of main road in Hawler again in protest against lack of services

Residents of the Zeitoun neighborhood staged a sit-in on Saturday in the city of Hawler to protest the lack of basic services in their housing Project, and blocked the main road leading to the Project, Roj News reported.

The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of basic services such as water, electricity and sanitation, stressing that these services are one of their most basic rights, and called on the responsible authorities to quickly take measures to meet their needs and improve living, according to the agency.

The agency reported that the spokesman for the protesters stated that they will not end their protests until their demands are fully implemented, stressing that "the current situation is not worthy of the expected standards for housing Projects in the region."

For its part, the authorities responsible for the Project or the city of Hawler have not issued any official comment on the subject so far, and the sit-in continues, which affects the daily lives of residents and public transportation on the other hand, due to the failure to implement the demands of the people by the authorities in Hawler, according to the agency.
