Civil Defense responds to 141 incidents across Syria

The Syrian Civil Defense, operating under the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, announced today that its teams responded to 141 incidents across Syria on Friday, July 24. These included 122 fires and 19 traffic accidents.

The agency said the fires broke out in homes, commercial shops, grasslands, trees, garbage dumps, and electrical wires. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blazes and cooled the affected sites. One civilian sustained injuries and received first aid at the scene, while the remaining damage was limited to property losses.

During the same period, Civil Defense teams responded to 19 traffic accidents, which claimed the lives of three civilians and injured seven others. The injured received first aid before being transferred to hospitals for further treatment. The teams also cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas.

The Civil Defense renewed its call for the public to follow fire prevention measures, particularly in forested and agricultural areas, and to avoid lighting fires or discarding cigarette butts and glass bottles. It also urged drivers to reduce speed, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving to help reduce traffic accidents.
