A 4-year-old child lost his life in a landmine explosion from remnants of war in Daraa, amid a nationwide toll of 611 deaths and 666 injuries in Syria since December 8, 2024.

The child, aged four, was killed when a landmine left over from the war detonated near the town of Al-Karak in eastern rural Daraa.

Since December 8, 2024, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has documented 611 deaths caused by explosions of war remnants, including 166 children and 42 women. Another 666 people were injured, including 291 children and 21 women, distributed as follows:

- Areas under transnational government control: 473 dead, including 25 women and 123 children; 486 injured, including 204 children and 11 women.

- Areas under the Autonomous Administration: 40 dead, including 4 women and 18 children; 67 injured, including 44 children and 2 women.

- Areas under Turkish mercenaries factions (Syrian National Army): 98 dead, including 13 women and 25 children; 107 injured, including 40 children and 8 women.
