Today, the Kongra Star and the Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party in the city of Hasaka, Jazera Canton, issued a statement regarding the Iranian authorities' decision to impose the death sentence on activist Bakhshan Azizi.

The statement was read by Zahra Ali, a member of the Kongra Star administration in Hasaka, in front of the Martyrs Sara and Roken Park in the city's youth housing area, with the participation of dozens of members of the Kongra Star  and the Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party.

The statement affirmed that the Iranian authorities continue to violate women's rights by issuing repressive sentences against them, including execution, noting that Iran ranks first globally in carrying out death sentences against women.

The statement urged the international community, governments, human rights organizations, and women's rights defenders to take immediate action to stop the execution of women's rights activist and humanitarian worker Bakhshan Azizi. The Iranian Supreme Court has upheld the sentence, which could be carried out at any moment without warning.

It highlighted that Bakhshan Azizi has dedicated her life to defending women's rights, fighting against inequality, and advocating for social justice, serving as a symbol of hope for many.

The statement stressed that her execution would not only be a grave injustice and crime but also an attempt to silence the voice of truth and equality that women represent in society.

It called on international authorities to intervene immediately to stop this unjust and inhumane ruling, which seeks to deprive women of their fundamental rights to express their opinions and live freely.

The statement concluded by condemning these oppressive violations against women, which aim to strip them of their fundamental rights, and called for an end to this inhumane and unjust execution. It urged the international community to exert firm pressure on Iran to halt all executions, particularly those targeting activists because of their political stances.
