Cautious calm in southern Jazira, military movements, siege of Kobani

A state of cautious calm has prevailed in the southern areas of the Jazira Canton since this morning, accompanied by reports of limited military movements by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government south of Girkê Legê, Çil Agha, and west of the city of Hasakah. Meanwhile, the city of Kobani remains under a complete siege amid ongoing movements along its southern and western fronts.

Since the early morning hours, the southern regions of the Jazira Canton have witnessed relative calm, as military activity by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government was observed south of Girkê Legê, Çil Agha, and west of Hasakah.

Kobani, for its part, continues to endure a total blockade, coinciding with movements by mercenary forces along the southern and western lines of the city’s countryside, raising fears of a potential escalation in the coming hours.

Despite the existence of a ceasefire agreement, mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government have failed to adhere to it and continue to carry out repeated attacks against the region. Yesterday, they targeted the countryside of Tal Tamr in the Jazira Canton, as well as the western countryside of Hasakah near Mount Kizwan, around the village of Tal al-Laban.

Within the framework of the general mobilization, residents of the Jazira Canton and Kobani continue to protect their neighborhoods, villages, and cities through the committees that have been formed.
