Cautious calm along contact lines after repeated violations, attacks on Kobani, Jazira villages 

Large areas surrounding the city of Kobani have seen a serious military escalation following breaches of the declared ceasefire by mercenaries of the so-called interim government against the Syrian Democratic Forces. The western and southern countryside of Kobani has been subjected to dozens of repeated attacks over the past hours, exacerbating tension and instability in the area.

The attacks also extended to the village of Safa, south of the city of Cil Agha in the Jazira Canton, which was hit by more than six consecutive attacks, causing material damage to civilian homes and property.

At the time of reporting, areas along the contact lines are experiencing a state of cautious calm, according to our correspondents.

Yesterday, mercenaries of the interim government in Syria committed a horrific massacre in the village of Kharab Ashk, east of Kobani, resulting in the killing of five civilians and the injury of five others with varying degrees of wounds, while a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble due to continued shelling of the village.

In a related context, regions of Rojava are witnessing a general mobilization among residents in an effort to protect villages, towns, and cities from the escalating attacks. Locals have begun forming community protection committees, alongside committees tasked with organizing civilian affairs, securing the needs of displaced persons, and providing humanitarian assistance and basic services to those affected.

According to available information, approximately 150,000 people have so far been displaced from Afrin, Raqqa, Tabqa, Deir ez-Zor, the Syrian coast, and Ain Issa, in addition to displaced residents of occupied Serekaniye, toward the Jazira and Euphrates cantons, where they are living under difficult humanitarian conditions and increasing daily hardship.

The continued attacks are further aggravating the humanitarian and security situation in the region, amid rising fears of a wider outbreak of violence, as local and international calls grow to halt the attacks and respect the declared ceasefire.

In support of the resistance in Rojava, cities in southern and northern Kurdistan, as well as several European countries, are witnessing demonstrations and solidarity campaigns, alongside initiatives to collect donations and provide humanitarian aid, expressing popular support and solidarity with the steadfastness of residents in the face of ongoing escalation.
