IDPs in Kobani schools: We demand end to attacks, lifting of siege 

The displaced woman Khadija Qaso told ANHA agency that they endured severe hardship during their displacement journey and are currently sheltering in schools, affirming their continued resilience.

She added: “We are displaced and have suffered greatly, but we will continue to endure until the end. What is happening shows that the world has turned a blind eye to what the people of Kobani are facing, which amounts to indirect support for the enemy. We are not waiting for their aid, and we do not need foam mattresses and blankets; we want our homes and our places. If they truly want to help us, they should achieve peace and ensure our return.”

“Before Aid… Stop the Attacks”

Khadija Qaso stressed that they are not in need of in-kind assistance, calling on the international community to take a stance on the suffering of Kobani’s residents, and confirming that the city is under siege and that people are living under difficult conditions.

She said: “We will continue to endure until the very last moment. We will not abandon our homes and our land, and we will stand by our children.”

For her part, the displaced woman Amina Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that their primary demand is to stop the war, saying: “All we want is an end to the war, so that the people can live in an atmosphere of peace and security.”

“Lift the Siege on Kobani”

Amina Sheikh Mohammed pointed out that the displaced are exhausted by repeated displacement, explaining that some countries have abandoned them and then attempt to silence them by sending limited aid. She added: “We do not want their aid. If they are sincere in supporting us, they should stop the attacks and lift the siege on Kobani.”
