Calls to rename road in honor of Gulestan and Hiro
In honor of the struggle and contributions of journalists Gulestan Tara and Hiro Bahaa al-Din, a group of activists and journalists in the Sayed Sadiq district has requested that the main road in the area be renamed after the two martyrs.
On August 23, the Turkish occupation army launched an attack on the crew of the "Jeter" media company, resulting in the martyrdom of journalists Gulestan Tara and Hiro Bahauddin, who were instrumental in advancing independent and women's media based on the principles of a free society.
In recognition of their efforts, activists and journalists formally requested the district governor of Sayed Sadiq to rename the main road in the district, which connects the area to the city of Halabja, after the martyrs Gulestan Tara and Hiro Bahauddin.
