Body of Commander Nour al-Din Soufi laid to rest in Qamishlo

The funeral ceremony commenced with a speech delivered by the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), followed by the reading of the Martyrdom Certificate by the Council of Martyrs’ Families.

The certificate, issued in honor of Commander Soufi’s lifelong dedication and sacrifice, was formally presented to his family. His brother, Abdullah Soufi, delivered a heartfelt address, expressing gratitude to those in attendance and paying tribute to his legacy.

Military honors were rendered by the People's Protection Units (YPG), the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and the Syrian Democratic Forces, marking the end of the ceremonial procession.

Commander Nour al-Din Soufi’s body was then carried from the Martyrs' Stadium (March 12 Martyrs’ Field) amid chants glorifying the martyrs. The funeral procession proceeded on foot to the cemetery, where thousands from across North and East Syria gathered to pay their respects.

The ceremony was attended by tribal elders, religious leaders, intellectuals, co-chairs, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, and commanders from the SDF all united in honoring the memory and legacy of a leader who played a pivotal role in the resistance and transformation of the region.
