8 people killed in separate incidents in Syria

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented a number of people killed in separate incidents in Syria over the past 24 hours.

In Tartus, three people were killed in three different areas: Jisr al-Khreibat, Majdouloun village, and Beit Alian road, after gunmen in a Hyundai Porter car targeted them in simultaneous incidents indicating planned assassinations.

In Damascus countryside, two members of the "54th Division - Engineering Companies" of the Damascus Authority were killed and others were injured while they were dismantling mines in the Dumar area.

In Damascus, a person was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in al-Mazzeh Basateen area for allegedly "dealing with the former regime" in an incident that bears the character of a liquidation.

In another development, the body of a journalist was found in an abandoned area near the town of Jiroud in Qalamoun, nearly two weeks after his disappearance in Damascus, raising suspicions that journalists and media workers are being targeted.

A member of the Damascus Authority's security forces was killed while intervening to break up an armed clash that erupted after an argument in the Kiswah area near the Amani Hospital in Rif Dimashq, indicating the fragility of security in Damascus Authority areas
