A local source from occupied Girê Spî/Tel Abyad reported that on Sunday, a group of Turkish-backed mercenaries physically assaulted Mustafa Al-Ayaf, 45, from the Al-Bu Asaf tribe, a resident of the village of Al-Mankali.

According to the source, the assailants stole his money and phone.

This incident is the second of its kind within one day. Earlier on Sunday morning, a group of three mercenaries wearing military uniforms kidnapped the principal of Al-Sabagh School in occupied Girê Spî/Tel Abyad, severely beating him after he criticized the educational situation and demanded improvements.

Since Turkey and its mercenaries seized control of the city in late 2019, occupied Girê Spî/Tel Abyad has suffered from chaos and insecurity, manifested in killings, kidnappings, and assaults on civilians, in addition to deteriorating living conditions and services under the control of the mercenary groups.
