At least 25 citizens returned to their city after besieging on borders

A group of 25 Kurdish citizens from the city of Kobani, who had been stranded in a mountainous area between the administrative borders of Eastern Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Region, arrived in the city of Qamishlo today.

The citizens are expected to continue their journey from Qamishlo toward Kobani after overcoming the difficult conditions they experienced during their stay in the border area.

For the past week, 25 civilians have been stranded in an area located in the mountains near the village of Haji Omaran, which is located around the border of the Kurdistan Region and Eastern Kurdistan after their effort to enter the region using illegal ways. According to their testimonies provided to the correspondent of our agency, they have been turned back to the buffer zone between the two sides after being detained by the Iranian officials before.

During their time there, they appealed to Kurdish authorities, humanitarian organizations, and the international community to intervene and secure a safe passage for them.

According to the available information, the group had left the city of Kobani heading to the United Arab Emirates, and from there traveled to Iran, before attempting to enter the Kurdistan Region irregularly.
