Art event in Kobani in support of YPJ

The Hilal Zerin Movement, in coordination with the Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art in Kobani, organized a cultural event at the center's hall, attended by local residents and several fighters from the Women's Protection Units.

On April 26,2026, the Joint Platform for Women's Movements and Organizations in Rojava launched a support campaign for Women's Protection Units under the slogan "We Are All YPJ; YPJ Represents Us." As part of this initiative, the Hilal Zirin Movement organized a series of diverse cultural, artistic, and educational events.

Since its launch, the campaign has witnessed the organisation of various events, as well as the declaration of prominent women from the Middle East and various countries around the world their solidarity and support for Women's Protection Units.

In this context, the hall of the Baqi Khado Center witnessed a musical event that was characterized by an enthusiastic atmosphere and remarkable engagement from the attendees.

The event began with holding a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs.

After that, the commander of the Women's Protection Units in Kobani, Delbrin Kobani, delivered a speech, in which she saluted the local residents, and reaffirmed the units' commitment to fulfilling their roles and responsibilities. She stated, "We applaud our noble people and pledge to protect them. We have paid a heavy price and sacrificed heroes; we will remain steadfast in honoring our commitments until the very end and live up to the sacrifices made by our martyrs."

The commander added, "No one has the right to question the legitimacy of the Women's Protection Units. If our people recognize their legitimate force and accept them, we stand firmly by their side and strive to earn their trust in achieving victory. No one will make decisions for us; we are the ones who determine our own destiny."

She emphasized: "We have a legitimate right to protect our people. When the forces of darkness represented by ISIS launched an attack, the Women's Protection Units themselves served as a shield to prevent their expansion in the region. Therefore, everyone owes gratitude for this pioneering spirit of resistance and sacrifice. We will never distance ourselves from our army; we possess sufficient strength and awareness to determine our own destiny."

The event continued with revolutionary musical performances presented by groups affiliated with the Hilal Zerin Movement and the Baqi Khedo Center, which conveyed the spirit of resistance, highlighted the pioneering role of women across various aspects of life, and reaffirmed ongoing support for the campaign and commitment to advancing its message within society.
