Arrest of those involved in the murder of Kurdish National Council member Ismail

The Internal Security Forces in the North and East of Syria region began their investigations into the murder of Kurdish National Council member Ismail Fattah, in the city of Tirbespiyê in al-Jazira canton, on January 20, after finding his body murdered.

Today, through a statement to public opinion, the Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of those involved in the crime. The statement of the Internal Security Forces, published by the Media Center of the forces, stated:

"On January 19, 2025, through an official statement, the Internal Security Forces reported the discovery of the body of Mr. Ismail Fattah Ismail. Immediately after the body was found, the specialized teams in combating crime, in coordination with the Public Prosecution, began taking the necessary measures in accordance with legal procedures, where material evidence related to the incident was seized, the suspects were identified, and then they were arrested in accordance with legal procedures.

The initial investigations led to clear confessions from the detainees regarding their involvement in the murder. The circumstances of the crime, the reasons and motives will also be revealed through the media in accordance with legal procedures within days. Accordingly, they will be referred to the competent judiciary to receive their just punishment in accordance with the laws in force.

The Internal Security Forces renew their firm commitment to achieving security and stability in North and East Syria, and affirm their determination to combat crime, deter criminals, and bring them to justice, in a manner that ensures civil peace and protects society."
