Armed groups continue kidnappings in coastal cities, villages

Various areas of the Syrian coast are witnessing an increase in violations at the hands of armed groups, who are carrying out raids, arrests, and intimidation against civilians.
In this context, sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that "armed groups affiliated with the Ministries of Defense and Interior stormed the village of Hababa, located in the countryside of Dreikish in the Tartous Governorate, yesterday evening. They raided several homes, vandalizing and destroying property, before kidnapping 10 residents of the village and taking them to an unknown location."
In a similar incident in Latakia, an armed group from the aforementioned forces raided a house in the village of al-Eidiya in the Jableh countryside, randomly searching it before stealing its contents and vandalizing its private property.
This comes amid growing concerns among residents about these practices in the area. They are demanding an end to these violations, accountability for those responsible, and respect for the rule of law and citizens' rights.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported hours earlier that Sheikh Saleh Al-Mansour, a religious figure from the Alawite sect, was kidnapped yesterday evening from his home in the village of Ras al-Ain in Jableh countryside by a patrol from the Damascus government forces. He was then taken to an unknown location.
According to sources, the forces stormed the sheikh's home at 7:00 PM, using force and threats at gunpoint. They verbally assaulted his family, including his wife and minor children. They also attempted to steal his private car and kidnap other family members, but the intervention of a number of villagers prevented the kidnapping.
