Apoist Movement to release important statement on Peace, Democratic Society Phase

The leadership of the Apoist Movement held an important meeting addressing the first anniversary of the dissolution of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), reviewing current developments in the ongoing phase. A statement on the matter is expected to be issued.

The leadership also held a press conference marking the first anniversary of the PKK’s dissolution conference.

According to reports, the press conference—held in the Medya Defense Areas—was attended by prominent senior figures within the movement. The meeting included significant remarks regarding the latest stage reached in the Peace and Democratic Society Process.

On February 27, 2025, Leader Abdullah Ocalan issued a call titled “The Call for Peace and a Democratic Society,” urging the dissolution of the PKK and an end to the strategy of armed struggle against Turkey.

Accordingly, during its 12th conference held between May 5 and 7, 2025, the PKK announced its decision to dissolve. It was noted during today’s press conference that a comprehensive evaluation of the process has been conducted after one year since its initiation.
