Amuda residents call for leader Ocalan’s Physical Freedom

Residents of the city of Amuda have called for the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocaan, urging the Turkish state to take positive steps in response to his call for peace and a democratic society.

The Turkish state continues to impose a system of isolation, torture, and annihilation on leader Ocalan and has not taken any constructive measures regarding his situation, despite his appeal for peace and democracy on February 27.

Speaking to ANHA Agency, residents of Amuda in Jazira Canton reiterated their demand for leader Ocalan’s physical freedom and urged Turkey to take a positive step by granting him the “right to hope.”

Citizen Mohammed Khair Tawfiq stated, “The period that leader Abdullah Ocalan has spent in Imrali must come to an end. His freedom will bring peace to the region.”

For her part, Jihan Ahmed referred to leader Ocalan’s call for peace and the Kurdish liberation movement’s response, stressing that the Turkish state has taken no steps in this direction. She added that peace will prevail in the region once the leader is freed.

Another citizen, Ghazala Qafour, demanded the immediate physical freedom of leader Ocalan, emphasizing that “the Turkish state must grant him the right to hope.”

Residents of Amuda reaffirmed their determination to continue resistance and struggle until the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is achieved.
