Amnesty International issued a statement today calling for the cessation of attacks in Aleppo and the protection of civilians, expressing concern over the growing number of civilian casualties and the ongoing displacement.

The organization urged full compliance with international humanitarian law, an immediate stop to attacks on civilians and civilian property, refraining from using weapons that do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

Amnesty International stressed the need to take all possible measures to protect civilians and infrastructure.
