Protests in Qamishlo, Tal Tamr show solidarity with besieged Aleppo

Residents of Qamishlo, along with displaced people from Afrin and Shahba, gathered in front of the Mohammad Sheikhou center in Qamishlo to show support for the resistance of the besieged neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Al-Ashrafiya, and Bani Zeid in Aleppo, amid ongoing attacks and violations.

Participants called for an end to the attacks, emphasizing that these actions are part of a systematic approach targeting the region’s indigenous communities and forcing residents to flee.

Displaced Afrin residents participating in the protest stressed the need to stop attacks carried out by mercenaries of the Interim Government, which have caused residents to be displaced nearly four times, following a pattern of pressure and violations.

They noted that these policies do not target a specific group but threaten civil peace and coexistence. They highlighted the importance of accepting all communities without discrimination and rejecting all forms of violations against civilians.

They also warned that the international community’s silence on these violations encourages their continuation and called on relevant authorities to fulfill their moral and humanitarian responsibilities, protect civilians, and ensure their safe return home.
