Aleppo and Damascus airports are again out of service

Today, the Damascus government announced that the Damascus and Aleppo international airports were out of service following “Israeli bombing,” and that scheduled flights were diverted to Latakia International Airport.

An agency affiliated with the Damascus government quoted a military source as saying: "At approximately 5:25 this morning, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, and from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo".

The military source indicated that one person killed and another injured, and the two airports' runways were subjected to material damage, which led to them being out of service.

The agency also reported that "planned flights via Damascus and Aleppo airports (arrival and departure) have been diverted to Latakia International Airport".

On October 12 and 14, the Damascus government announced that the two airports are out of service due to “Israeli bombing“.

The Syrian Observatory stated that on October 12, Israeli warplanes carried out a raid on Damascus International Airport, and another raid targeting Aleppo International Airport, where plumes of smoke rose. and confirmed that Damascus International Airport did not witness any definitive arrival of any military shipments, nor did it witnessed the arrival of any similar shipments to Aleppo International Airport, and that the targeting was aimed at putting the 2 airports out of service and nothing more.

On October 14, Israeli strikes targeted Aleppo International Airport, hours after it was restored to service, causing it to be out of service again, in addition to wounding 5 soldiers with varying injuries.
