Women from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo, as well as from occupied Afrin, expressed their gratitude to Leader Abdullah Ocalan for his contributions to women’s freedom and communities, affirming that he represents a symbol of peace.

In this regard, Salwa Hamdi stated: “Leader Abdullah Ocalan is a living symbol of peace, and the only one capable of activating it within societies. His latest book, titled Manifesto for Peace and Democratic Society, along with his appeal, highlight his ongoing efforts to establish peace and restore historical relations instead of wars based on sectarianism and nationalism.”

Salwa further explained the means by which the leader activates peace:
“He advocates a culture of dialogue and politics over weapons and bloodshed, transforming a strict military phase into a peaceful legal and political phase by dissolving the party he founded—not only for the Kurdish cause but for the entire world.”

She added “His thought is comprehensive, proposing an alternative project to capitalist modernity that has trapped the world in an endless spiral of crises the project of the Democratic Nation, which guarantees rights and freedoms for all ethnicities and affiliations.”

Roxana Mohammed spoke of the great sacrifices made by Leader Abdullah Ocalan for his people, particularly for women.

She said “The leader has given paramount importance to women’s issues, considering them among the most significant, and saw that resolving them means establishing a democratic society based on justice and gender equality.” She noted that the leader emphasizes in his assessments that the first conflict in human history was based on gender.

Roxana affirmed that achieving rights and freedoms requires securing the leader’s physical freedom, adding:
“He has organized us, enlightened our consciousness, and charted the path to freedom, and it is now our duty to fulfill our tasks in full accordance with his ideology.”

Janan Omar highlighted the Turkish authorities’ treatment of the leader and their stance towards his resistance and sacrifices:
“The leader remains detained in İmralı prison, and the prison conditions have not changed. If Turkey truly desires peace, it must first and foremost release the leader.”

Janan emphasized, saying“As women, we must be worthy of his trust in us and what he has done for us. We owe him by following his path, applying his ideology, and working toward achieving his physical freedom.”
