Women from the city of Al-Darbasiyah explained that women in the past suffered from marginalization and a lack of awareness of their rights, but found the path to freedom through the project of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which granted them a leadership role in various aspects of life.

Hamida Eisso, a member of the Women’s House in Al-Darbasiyah, said that leader Ocalan struggled for women’s freedom and rights. She explained that women in the past did not fully understand their rights, but his thought opened the way to freedom and gave them an active role in society.

She added that leader Ocalan is among the leaders who paid great attention to the women’s issue and worked to free women from the restrictions imposed on them.

She stated that his philosophy made women partners in all areas of life, including military, political, social, and diplomatic fields, which led women to believe that their freedom is linked to the freedom of the leader and his democratic thought.

She pointed out that his continued imprisonment in Imrali Prison for 27 years aims to prevent the spread of his ideas that call for peace and democratic coexistence, while the Turkish state has chosen war instead of peaceful solutions.

For her part, Zina Ali, a member of the Al-Darbasiyah City Council, said that women previously suffered from marginalization and deprivation of their rights, and that their role was limited to housework and raising children without any real role in society. However, this reality changed after women became familiar with the thought and philosophy of leader Ocalan, which called for women’s empowerment in all fields and granting them full rights.

She added that leader Ocalan’s thought gave women the opportunity to prove themselves, which was reflected in their presence in military, political, and social fields. She stressed that the phase initiated by the leader has not yet been completed and that women will continue this path.

She also noted that women believe complete women’s liberation is tied to the physical freedom of the leader, and that although women have not yet achieved full freedom, they are moving toward it through his thought and philosophy.

Meanwhile, Jilan Hamo, a member of the Families of Martyrs Council in Al-Darbasiyah, said that women continue their struggle for the freedom of leader Ocalan and work within institutions and organize women’s activities based on his thought and philosophy.

She added that justice cannot be achieved anywhere women are excluded, and that women live according to the leader’s thought and struggle.

She explained that although leader Ocalan is physically imprisoned, his thought and philosophy remain present among women, expressing hope that he will gain his freedom soon.

She also addressed a message to the countries of the world, calling for recognition of women’s struggle, and demanded that the Turkish state release leader Ocalan.
