Al-Araj warned of Turkish plans aimed at occupying areas extending from Aleppo and Raqqa in northern and central Syria to Mosul in Iraqi territory.

Al-Araj said, "The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries seek to occupy the entirety of northern Syria, to achieve their goals of achieving the Misak-ı Millî, which finds in the strip extending from Aleppo and its countryside, including Afrin towards Mosul, passing through Raqqa, lands belonging to the Turkish occupation."

Turkey occupies the regions of Serê Kaniy, Tal Abyad, Jarabulus, parts of Al-Bab, Azaz, Idlib, and Afrin in northern, eastern, and northwestern Syria, and has dozens of bases in Iraqi territory and Southern Kurdistan.

The Secretary-General of the Syrian National Democratic Alliance Party believed that launching a dialogue between the Damascus government and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria would block the way to Turkish colonial plans, calling on the Damascus government to change its position towards the Autonomous Administration.

He continued, "If the Syrian government does not express positions toward other forces, especially the Autonomous Administration, the Syrian situation will get worse."

On April 18, 2023, the Autonomous Administration presented a road map to resolve the Syrian crisis, consisting of 9 items, but the Damascus government did not respond to this map.

Al-Araj also urged the opposition forces that are not dependent on the Turkish occupation state to unite their ranks in the face of the challenges surrounding Syria.
