Aisha Efendi: struggle bears fruit thanks to APO movement

Aisha Effendi, a member of the Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Kobani, spoke to ANHA's agency on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on November 27, and congratulated Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the guerrillas of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement on this occasion.

Aisha Effendi said: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan started the freedom movement with a few people in the village of Vise in Lice. When the APO movement began, there were only a few houses in Kobani. We did not expect the Kurdish people to reach this level. APO struggle gave us strength and boosted our morale." 

Aisha Effendi described the Kurdish people before the establishment of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) as a "body without a soul" and continued her speech by saying: "The occupiers divided Kurdistan into four parts and imposed their authority on the Kurds. The Kurdish people were constantly subjected to genocide and were like a body without a soul, unable to resist. But the Kurdish people understood themselves and revolted against the dominant regimes thanks to the PKK and APO movement."

Aisha Effendi continued her speech, saying: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan revived the spirit of the Kurdish people. The leader is the founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. Women from all over Kurdistan gathered and fought together thanks to the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan. Women proved their presence during the Battle of Kobani, and she said, 'I am here, I will stay, and I will strengthen my struggle even more.'" 

Aisha Effendi pointed to the difficulties faced by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) during its founding phase, concluding her speech by saying: "We worked secretly, held monthly meetings with the locals and nationalist families, and collected donations for the PKK. The work was enjoyable despite the difficulties we faced, as the PKK was founded according to the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan."
