Activist Warisha Moradi denied healthcare despite health deterioration
The administration of Evin Prison has prevented the transfer of Kurdish activist and member of the Free Women’s Association of East Kurdistan, Wriesha Moradi, to the hospital despite the worsening of her health condition.
On November 10, the Revolutionary Court of Tehran in Iran issued a death sentence for Wriesha Moradi, accusing her of “membership in an armed organization hostile to Iran.”
Officials at Evin Prison announced that Wriesha Moradi, who has been sentenced to death, would be denied access to the hospital.
Moradi was scheduled to be transferred to the hospital after her health deteriorated due to a hunger strike, but prison authorities denied her this right.
Moradi was arrested in the city of Sanna in East Kurdistan on August 1, 2023, and, after two weeks of interrogation by the intelligence department, was moved to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. During this time, she was subjected to pressure and torture to extract forced confessions. After five months, she was transferred to the women’s ward of the same prison.
