Two Syrian soldiers killed and five were injured as a result of the explosion of a landmine that had previously been planted by ISIS near the Wadi al-Abyad Dam, located north of the city of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

SOHR indicated that the wounded were taken to Palmyra National Hospital to receive treatment after an ambulance arrived.

The death toll from clashes between Damascus forces and ISIS mercenaries within the Syrian desert, according to the SOHR, has reached 127 people since the beginning of 2024.
