6 people injured in bombardment, infiltration attempt in Sweida countryside

The National Guard Command in Sweida announced on Thursday that two people were wounded in a shelling attack carried out by the Syrian Transitional Government Forces on the town of al-Majdal in the western countryside of Sweida. In addition to that, four others were injured during an infiltration attempt on one of the city's positions on the northwestern axis.

In an official statement, the Command said that the shelling originated from the towns of Hazem and al-Mazra'a, located in the western countryside of Sweida, using drones and mortars, and it resulted in two injuries, in addition to inflicting financial damage to the civilian properties.

The statement indicated that the infiltration attempt was carried out under the cover of drones. The National Guard Forces stationed on both sides managed to engage the launch sites, disabling a mortar launcher, repelling the infiltrating elements, and maintaining full control of the situation on the ground.

The National Guard Command affirmed that any violation of the truce or infiltration attempt will be met with a decisive response to protect the security of civilians and the territory of the Jabal al-Druze region.
