Four people, including two children, were killed and others were injured due to Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip, coinciding with a new round of negotiations in Cairo to discuss the implementation of the second phase of the war-ending plan.

Health officials in Gaza reported that an airstrike targeting a tent for displaced persons in Khan Younis resulted in the death of a man and a child, while shelling a house in the Al-Bureij camp led to the death of an 18-month-old child and injured eight others. A person was also killed and ten others were injured when a motorcycle was targeted near displacement tents in the city of Gaza.
For its part, the Israeli army announced that it targeted members of Hamas, without providing additional details.
In the political context, a Hamas official and an informed diplomat described the Cairo talks as "positive" and making progress, amid efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to complete the U.S.-backed plan.
