276 people killed, including around 35 children, women, in Syria during September

Various regions of Syria under the control of the Transitional Government and areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries witnessed a rise in violence and diverse crimes during September, with 267 fatalities recorded.

The causes varied, including retaliatory or sectarian targeting, operations carried out by unknown perpetrators, explosions caused by war remnants, tribal clashes, field executions, random shootings, as well as mysterious murders.

These incidents were distributed across several Syrian regions and cities, including Damascus, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama, Latakia, Aleppo, Tartus, Idlib, Daraa, and Deir-ez-Zor.

Among these was a massacre committed by armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government forces against civilians in the village of Umm Al-Tina in the countryside of Deir Hafir city, east of Aleppo, by bombing the village with drones, resulting in the deaths of 7 civilians and injuring 4 others.

These violent events affected various population groups, with the number of children killed due to explosions or stray bullets estimated at about twenty, while between 12 and 15 women were killed, including victims inside homes or during retaliatory executions. Adult civilians constituted the overwhelming majority of the victims.

In the previous month of August, 166 people were killed, including 34 children and women, in areas controlled by the Transitional Government and Syrian territories occupied by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries.

On another note, the number of fatalities due to the security escalation in Swedia, which began in mid-July, has risen to 2,048 people due to clashes, field executions, and Israeli shelling, in addition to dozens of abductees.

Data confirm that September witnessed continued security chaos and an escalation of violence that left the civil society with greater suffering, amid increasing risks faced by those returning to their homes or camps, who have become direct targets of gunfire and war remnants.

According to observers, these data illustrate the fragility of security control and the security breakdown in areas controlled by the Transitional Government in Syria and those occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries.
