Two members of the Syrian interim government forces were killed in a landmine explosion while attempting to dismantle it in the northern countryside of Daraa.

Two personnel affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian interim government were killed in the explosion of a landmine left over from the war.

The mine detonated while the two were working to dismantle it in the village of Mahja in northern rural Daraa, killing them instantly.

War remnants and unexploded ordnance are widespread across Syrian territory as a result of years of conflict and power struggles, leaving thousands dead, injured, and affected—particularly civilians.
