182 Israeli incursions recorded in southern Syria in October

Areas across southern Syria, particularly the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa, witnessed an increase in Israeli incursions and military movements throughout October. These were accompanied by continued search operations, arrests and gunfire directed at civilians and agricultural land.

According to statistics compiled by ANHA agency, Israeli forces carried out 182 incursions during the month, mainly across areas of Quneitra and Daraa, with operations extending into the western countryside of Damascus.

The incursions covered several areas in Quneitra Governorate, including al-Hamidiyah, Om al-Azam, Om Batna, Ain Zivan, Tell Krum, Jaba, al-Ajraf, Taranja and al-Samdaniyah. The western countryside of Daraa also witnessed Israeli military movements, particularly around the village of Jamla and the Yarmouk Basin, in addition to movements in the western countryside of Damascus and around Mount Hermon.

In addition to these movements, two civilians were killed during the month, one in Quneitra and the other in Daraa. A further 27 cases of civilian arrests and detention were also recorded.

Israeli incursions and military movements during the first week of October also left two people injured. One was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the buffer zone on 5 October, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during an incursion into the town of Jabata al-Khashab in the Quneitra countryside on 7 October. He was subsequently arrested and later released before being transferred to hospital for treatment. However, no consolidated final figure for the total number of people injured throughout the month was available.

According to the statistics, Israeli military movements in southern Syria continued throughout October, with residents subjected to searches, detention and gunfire, while incursions into several border villages and towns persisted.
