Tal Abyad Military Council: We are determined to liberate every inch of our lands

Riyad Al-Khalaf’s speech came in a statement to ANHA agency in conjunction with the fourth anniversary of the occupation of the Girê Spi/Tal Abyad and Serêkaniyê/Ras al-Ain regions by Turkey and its mercenaries.

The commander of the Tal Abyad Military Council said: "The brutal Ottoman occupation led to the displacement of most of our people from the region and turned it into a safe haven for terrorist groups and a hotbed for the revival of ISIS, because it is the primary supporter of terrorism in the region, as the majority of foreign ISIS members entered Syria through the Turkish border".

Al-Khalaf added: "After the success of the Autonomous Administration project for NE Syria and the elimination of the terrorist organization ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the occupying state carried out direct military intervention by occupying Afrin and then Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn, in an effort to protect ISIS members and place the region in a state of security and economic instability".

He pointed out that "after occupying those cities, they worked to displace their original inhabitants and change the demographics of the region for its occupation project. The Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries carried out many massacres against our people, in addition to kidnappings, demanding ransom, burning agricultural crops, and destroying the region’s infrastructure, especially drinking water stations, and electricity networks, also targeting civilians on the M4 international road, in addition to bombing of populated villages, also coinciding with the continuous flight of drones over the region".

Riyad al-Khalaf explained, "During the recent events in the Deir ez-Zor region, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries carried out many attacks in the countryside of Manbij, the villages of Ain Issa and the Tal Tamr region, in order to relieve pressure on the armed groups affiliated with the Syrian regime in Deir ez-Zor, but thanks to the awareness of our people and their support for their children in SDF were able to eliminate these plans aimed at returning terrorism and chaos to the regions of NE Syria".

Al-Khalaf stressed, "Every day, we become more determined in following the path of our martyrs and our resistance and liberating every inch of our occupied lands. We also reassure our people that our forces are ready to defend them against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries".

He sent a message to the people in the areas occupied by Turkey and said: "We say to our people in the occupied territories, we will not hesitate to sacrifice our lives for your liberation from the Ottoman occupation, just as we liberated these areas in the past from ISIS terrorism".
