KRC calls for support NE Syria

Through a statement published on its official website, the Kurdistan Red Crescent called for providing of humanitarian aid to NE Syria.

The statement said: “Turkey has continued its bombing of civilian infrastructure in Rojava (NE Syria) since October 4, where the region is heading toward a humanitarian catastrophe.”

The statement explained that: “Turkey bombed more than 150 targets, and destroyed most of the infrastructure in the region within hours, and its attacks have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians, and the destruction of 80 percent of the infrastructure, including water and power plants, hospitals, residential buildings, schools, oil fields, factories and silos.”

The statement indicated that hundreds of thousands of people remained without water and electricity for days, and that the bombing by Turkish warplanes resulted in the collapse and destruction of the Corona Hospital in Derik, which is one of the most important hospitals in the region. Many health centers in the region also collapsed and electricity was cut off from the hospitals.

The Kurdistan Red Crescent revealed that it provides humanitarian and vital aid to the region, and called on the entire Kurdish people to support the people of NE Syria.
