Zidane al-Asi: There is an international green light for the Turkish attack

The Turkish occupation army has launched massive air and ground attacks on NE, Syria since October 4, targeting populated areas and their infrastructure.

Regarding these attacks, the co-chair of the Defense Office in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Zidane al-Asi, said, “The attack is a continuation of the Turkish plan to strike the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria from the beginning, Turkey has been trying to strike this project in all aspects, and in previous years it has tried repeatedly.”

Al-Asi pointed out in an interview with ANHA's agency that, "When Turkey became certain that it would not be able to break the will of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the will of the people, it resorted to striking the infrastructure of the region, and this is a war crime against the peoples of NE, Syria."

He stated, "Turkey is trying to strike the citizen's livelihood by bombing power transformers, oil wells, and drinking water institutions, in order to cut off the lifeline in the region and displace the people from these areas."

He added: "Through these attacks, Turkey is trying to disintegrate society and make the region unstable, to push for demographic change in the region, and the first and last goal is to thwart the AANES' project."

Al-Assi noted that the Turkish occupation is working to exploit global opportunities and circumstances to implement its ambitions in Syrian lands, at the expense of the Syrian people.

Zaidan al-Asi said, "There is a green light from the Global Coalition led by the United States of America to launch such an attack. When Turkish warplanes go out over the airspace controlled by the international coalition, it certainly indicates that there is a green light from America."

He explained that the Global Coalition's standing by and being silent about the Turkish attacks would cause a disruption in the fight against ISIS mercenaries.

The co-chair of the Defense Office in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Zidane al-Asi, warned of the repercussions of the international silence and these attacks, saying: “Our forces will go to confront and fight the mercenaries who come from the Turkish side, and thus will pave the way for the return of ISIS, and the world will be the loser.”
