Jurist touches upon Turkish occupation crimes against NE, Syria

Lawyer and human rights activist, Mohammad Amin Al-Nuaimi, reported that the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state in the regions of NE, Syria are in violation of international covenants, charters and laws.

He stated in a statement to ANHA's agency that "Ankara's pretexts for targeting NE, Syria and its infrastructure, and linking the targeting of these vital installations to the bombing of Ankara, are all just flimsy and baseless arguments."

Turkish regime officials are guilty and must be brought to justice

Al-Nuaimi confirmed that the fascist Turkish president, Tayyip Erdogan, his prime minister, his Defense Minister, and his chief of staff and intelligence, are guilty of committing crimes since 2016 during the occupation of the cities of Jarabulus and al-Bab and its villages, then in the city of Afrin in 2018, and then in Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi in 2019. All of these crimes are in violation of international laws, especially the Rome Statute of 1998.

The International Criminal Court must expedite the prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime

Al-Nuaimi pointed out that the crimes that Turkey committed in the past, and are recommitting today, are classified as “genocide of peoples,” and said: “When the lives of the population are put in trouble, this means planning for genocide, and this crime is known in the charters and laws of the International Criminal Court, which was established in accordance with the Rome Statute of 1998 considers it a “serious crime,” and the court must bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice for violating the laws of the Rome Statute.

Al-Nuaimi pointed out that it is the task of the judges of the International Criminal Court, its spokesman and the chief prosecutor of the court, to intervene quickly to carry out their duty to the fullest extent, as the crimes being committed now fall into the category of crimes of “genocide” and “crime of aggression” according to the standards of international law, and they are also classified. As a "crime against humanity."

He stressed: "The International Criminal Court must expedite and prosecute the perpetrators of this crime (targeting infrastructure) urgently."

The penalty for confessing to the crime of "genocide" is double

Al-Nuaimi said: “The threat of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and his admission of the destruction of vital life sources, stations, facilities and infrastructure, is a prior indication that they will commit crimes, and since they admitted to committing these crimes, which are classified as “genocide,” their punishment will be doubled.”

Residents' lives are in danger

During his speech, Al Nuaimi asked the question: Why are these crimes considered “against humanity”? He replied by saying:

“Because the crime occurred on a wide geographical scale, as various areas of NE, Syria were bombed, and Hakan Fidan’s statement indicates premeditated murder, threatening the lives of the residents of the region and forcing them to abandon their homes, similar to putting their lives in danger and living under bombing fire, all of these crimes are considered “crimes against humanity.”

Al-Nuaimi stated, "The population was persecuted during this aggression, and the bombing that occurred is the best evidence of that. The reasons are political related to the identity of the people here. They want to persecute the races, nationalities, and cultures that live in NE, Syria."

"Apartheid" crimes

Al-Nuaimi said that international laws prohibit the commission of such crimes. There are other crimes committed in secret, classified as “apartheid crimes,” adding: “The residents here are suffering after the bombing that targeted electrical installations and stations. These crimes that were committed will generate crises that the population will suffer from it."

Repeating the attack in itself is a “crime”

The lawyer and human rights activist, Mohammad Amin Al-Nuaimi, pointed out that this attack is not new today and has been repeated, and repeating the scenario of the attack in itself is considered a “crime.” The aim of this attack is to achieve a systematic political goal to implement its projects (the Turkish occupation projects) related to the Misak-ı Millî.

He noted that the United Nations had to intervene urgently and hold an emergency meeting in the UN Security Council, given Turkey’s commitment of these crimes.

Al-Nuaimi revealed that Turkey, through these attacks, wants to promote “chaos in the region and not establish security and peace there, as evidenced by its strikes on vital installations and the targeting of civilians. This is clear Turkish revenge for its mercenaries, ISIS. Turkey does not want the people of the region to provide protection for ISIS detention centers. Its anger will be healed when it sees them.” Outside: These crimes are in the service of reviving ISIS and the Misak-ı Millî.
