​​​​​​​Position of Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party regarding ongoing Turkish attacks

Today, the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party issued a statement to public opinion regarding the ongoing Turkish occupation army attacks on, which reads:

"Since 10/5/2023, the Turkish occupation has carried out a series of attacks by drones targeting villages, service facilities, electricity, water and fuel stations, and oil wells in the Autonomous Administration areas of NE Syria, resulting in martyrs, wounded, and great material losses.

These barbaric attacks come within the framework of the continuation of the genocide campaign launched by Turkey against the Kurdish people and the rest of the components in the Autonomous Administration areas, in a new attempt to strike security and stability in these areas, and to thwart the democratic project represented by the Autonomous Administration experience.

It is no secret that Turkey's focus this time on infrastructure by targeting vital installations and facilities in the Autonomous Administration areas is a systematic action aimed at striking the economy to destroy civilians' livelihoods and displacing them from their areas.

We in the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the Turkish attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas, and we affirm that the arguments used by Turkey in its attacks are weak and baseless.

We also call on the international community, to intervene urgently to stop and hold accountable Turkey, which is committing war crimes against humanity by bombing infrastructure in the region, violating international covenants that prohibit such attacks.

We also call on all Kurdish political forces and parties and all our people from all components to stand united in the face of the terrorism practiced by Turkey against the region and its people, and to stand alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces that ensure the protection and security of the region".
