Almost complete power outage in Jazira region due to Turkish bombing

The co-chair of the Energy Office in the Jazeera region, Akram Suleiman, explained that since the early morning hours of today: “The Turkish occupation drones targeted the service infrastructure of Jazira region, as they targeted the Western Dam transfer station in the city of Hasakah, which is approximately 15 kilometers away from the city, and was destroyed.” Transformer, which led to it being out of service, knowing that this station supplies the western neighborhoods of the city and its countryside.”

Suleiman added that the attacks also targeted: “The northern electricity station of the city of Qamishlo, which supplies half the city and its eastern and western countryside with electricity, and the bombing caused massive destruction to the station, whose capacity reaches 30 MVA.”

The co-chair of the Energy Office in Jazira region noted that the targeting also included: “The electricity transfer station for the city of Amuda, whose capacity is estimated at 30 MVA amperes, which led to it being out of service after the major damage it sustained as a result of this bombing, and thus led to a power outage from the city of Amuda.” And its countryside, the situation is very complicated, and now it is not possible to provide electricity to that area.”

Akram Suleiman explained: “As you know, we were facing major problems in providing electricity to our regions due to the repeated attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the region, and what we suffered from confronting ISIS and the terrorist Jabhet al-Nusra, is now being practiced by the Turkish occupation with its arrogant policy that targets the infrastructure to increase the suffering of citizens and destabilize the security and stability of the region, break the people’s confidence in the administration, and create crises for it with the aim of destroying the AANES' project.”
