Fawza Youssef: Today is national solidarity day against Turkish attacks

In a special statement to ANHA agency, a member of the Presidential Body of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Fawza Youssef, condemned and denounced the attacks of the Turkish state against the regions of NE Syria, and said: "I offer my condolences to the families of the martyrs and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded".

Fawza Youssef confirmed that what the Turkish state is doing is a continuation of the war of extermination against the Kurdish people and the people of the region, and she explained: "Targeting civilians and infrastructure is a violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, and is a war crime, and the goal of these attacks is to empty the region of its indigenous people and achieve its expansionist ambitions".

Fawza Youssef touched on the position of the Damascus government, as it has not yet expressed any position against the Turkish attacks, and said: "The silence of the Syrian government towards these attacks that target unarmed Syrian citizens and Syrian land is a shameful position, and it is far from the spirit of responsibility. The Syrian government is responsible for protecting its sovereignty and it must fulfill its duties regarding that".

Turkey is the new ISIS

Fawza Youssef pointed out: "Turkey is the new ISIS. Its terrorist and arbitrary policies do not only pose a threat to our people, but to the entire world; because it has become a place for extremist movements and a prison for democratic forces".

"International and regional silence is the result of reactionary agreements and deals that legitimize the violations of the Turkish state, and it is also responsible for the killing of civilians because of its silence".

Fawza Youssef noted that: "The Turkish state, with its attacks, wants to break our will, create panic and fear, and surrender to its policies. But we must announce to the whole world that any attack will not be able to undermine our unity and our will. Therefore, our people must rise up and raise their voices against these attacks that target our land and our dignity, and we must stand together against the enemy of humanity and neo-Nazism. With the will of the peoples, we will confront all attacks and protect our gains. The people must protect their institutions. Today is national solidarity day".

Since yesterday, the Turkish occupation state has escalated its air attacks against the regions of NE Syria, and has targeted service and vital facilities in the Jazera region dozens of times, such as the Çil Agha Dam and oil statıons.
