Security chaos prevails in Daraa

SOHR said that unidentified gunmen killed a "civilian" near his home in the town of Yadouda in the western countryside of Daraa.

Daraa Governorate is witnessing widespread security chaos on a daily basis.

In a related context, members of the Political Security Branch of the Damascus government arrested 6 citizens today as they passed through one of the branch’s military checkpoints in the town of Ghabagheb in the Daraa countryside. The detainees come from the city of Jassim.

The detainees' families demanded the release of their children and gave Damascus government forces until noon today to release the detainees.

Thus, the total number of attacks in Daraa since the beginning of the year, according to the documentation of the Syrian Observatory, has reached 389 incidents of security chaos, all of which took place in different ways and methods, and caused the death of 312 people, most of whom were members of the Damascus government forces and groups loyal to them.

The repeated assassinations and arrests, show the poor security situation in Daraa, which is subject to the so-called “settlements” by the Damascus government in 2018.

It was proven that the policy of forcing submission by the Damascus government created a state of popular anger in the southern region, which was the first city to revolt against the Damascus government since the beginning of the 2011.
