Deir ez-Zor notables reject any external intervention
Tribal sheikhs and notables in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor rejected any external interference in the region and denounced attempts to spread discord among the components of the region.
The notables made a statement in front of the People’s Municipality building in the city of Hajin, in the presence of representatives from local councils, male and female members of civil institutions, martyrs’ families councils, and women’s committees.
The statement was read by the co-chair of the Marashda Council in the town of Sousse, Asaad Al-Dakhil. The text of the statement read:
“We denounce the interventions of the regime and the Iranian militias under the name of the tribal army in order to destabilize the security and stability of the region and spread its cells in our regions. Therefore, we categorically reject these external interventions by the regime and its militias.
" We know very well that the regime is working to spread discord among the components of the region, especially between the Kurds and Arabs. We say to them: We and the Kurds are brothers, we have close and strong relations for hundreds of years."
"We declare our support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the revolutionary movement in Suwayda."
We call on all Syrian components to show solidarity and unity in order to confront foreign interference and preserve the security and stability of the country. We also call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping these interventions and achieving justice and peace in Syria.”
